CAMPS
Plein Air Camp
Plein Air is painting outdoors from real life surround by Mother Nature, Campers will paint what they see focusing on shapes and values instead of detail. Campers should be prepared for the elements. Inclement weather classes will be held in the Chaffee.

Creative Metal Camp
Have a great week learning to sculpt in metal. While making your own small wall piece and a small sculpture, students will get to learn how to cut with a plasma machine, hand tools. The class will get to weld, using oxygen and acetylene. Learn how to form a small 3D sculpture exploring skills in hammering, forming techniques.

Clay Camp
Campers will make several projects out of mid-fired stoneware clay. Projects may include: birdhouses, drinking vessels, bowls, wind chimes/mobiles, Pendants and storied wall hangings as well as some free time to make a few of your own ideas. Items will be fired in a kiln with fun melty food safe glazes. We will be creating for 3 days, then glazing and assembling for 3 days. On the final camp day, campers prepare for an Art Show to show off their creations.

Draw with Color Camp
Intro to Drawing! The week will explore the fundamentals of drawing. This class will be an overview on eye/hand coordination skills, making marks on paper freely, using line, shading, positive and negative space, perspective, and light. The class will explore a range of materials and techniques. Having fun with drawing in the beautiful setting of Chaffee. We will work with still life, plus explore the gardens around Chaffee. Materials will include pencils, charcoal and some color.

The Art of Nature Camp
Campers will find patterns in nature while collecting material for fairy houses which will be made around the Chaffee trees. Pressed leaves and other found objects in clay. We will learn how to draw nature with various materials. Campers will be taking a short walk around a few blocks and be encouraged to discuss and share what they see.
Campers need to wear proper shoes.

Puppet & Theatre Camp
Create a puppet using your imagination or a favorite character, then bring it to life in a play! Campers will design and create a puppet; work as a group to build a backdrop; write a play and act it out with a special screening for family and friends on the final camp day.

Teen Drawing Class
ARTNATUREFLOW … Drawing techniques inspired by nature.
Come join this weekly science-based drawing and painting techniques class inspired by Vermont’s beautiful natural environment. Jason Bemis, artist instructor and head lecturer for the AICCE Academy, will lead experiential drawing courses that focus on understanding how to construct common themes from nature (such as trees, clouds and mountains) by using color form and pattern techniques in a variety of mediums.
