Annual Student Exhibit

“Art Connects Us”
Opening March 5th from 1–3pm

Rutland, VT: The Chaffee Art Center, Your Center for Creativity, is proud to again showcase young artists from Vermont schools and homeschoolers in grades PreK-12 for our Annual Student Exhibit.

For 2022, the show moved to March to incorporate Youth Art Month, and their theme “Art Connects Us.” Entries in all of the arts are encouraged and on display.

We invite the community to the Student Exhibit Opening on Saturday, March 5th from 1 to 3pm. There is no charge for admittance. A donation would be greatly appreciated. Masks required.

The Chaffee takes great pleasure in presenting the opportunity for these talented young people to be inspired by seeing their work, and the works of others, displayed in our 1890’s historic mansion professional gallery. 

A heartfelt thank you to all of the teachers, parents, family and friends who encourage young artists to explore the arts, as well as to the artists who continue to amaze and inspire. 

There will be special features as well with the works of Artist Jason Bemis featured in a solo gallery, and a wall dedicated to celebrating International Women’s History Month featuring art by Chaffee juried women member artists.

Additionally, Chaffee artist members will have work on display and for sale in the upstairs galleries, as well as in the Gallery Shoppe that is filled with handmade treasures and gift ideas for any occasion, or even for yourself!  The Student Exhibit, art by Jason Bemis and Women’s History Month featured artists will be on display until April 8th. 

As we celebrate 61 years as an art center in the Rutland Community, we also invite you to join as an artist, single or family member to help the Chaffee to continue to inspire and cultivate creativity, while positively impacting the vitality of our community through the arts. 

Visit the Chaffee during open hours to experience the beauty of the 1890’s historic building and the wonderful works of art throughout, plus our Gallery Shoppe!  While here, picture your next event, bridal shower, wedding, meeting or retreat being held in our beautiful 1890’s mansion, fondly known by its first owners as Sunny Gables.
